Isaac Lee Hayes, Jr. August 20, 1942 – August 10, 2008

I remember listen to the Shaft album over and over as a kid in the 1970's. Finally, in Junior High Stage band, we got to play it. I could never get that cymbal opening intro right. Of course, maybe I should have practice more.

George Carlin (May 12, 1937 – June 22, 2008)


It's time I caught up on some obituaries. Why do I do this. All these people are part of my person Pantheon. George is in the Humor wing as a lesser God. He has slipped a bit, because he seemed to get a little bitter toward the end. IMHO, His best routine was Baseball/Football, although I know some consider the "Seven Words YOU CAN'T Say On TV" his best stuff. I think 9/11 really charge his tune, all his terror entertainment bit were seen in a new and not so funny light anymore.

I did however almost shit my pants when I saw him as The Conductor on Thomas the Tank.

He will be missed, and we will not see his like again.

Charlton Heston, 1923-2008

I remember talking to Charlton Heston on a radio call in show when I was about 9 years old. I guess he was pitching his movie Earthquake or something. I had watch all the "Planet of the Apes" movie and "The Omega Man". I asked him why he had to die in all of his movie. What can I say, it bugs me when my childhood hero buys the farm all the time. He was 85, not a bad run.
