I'm at Menards, more specifically in the bathroom. Menards post their sales flyers above the urinals just in case you haven't notice any of the sales sign in the store. If you look closely at the very bottom of every page of the sales flyer you will see a proverb or tidbit of wisdom. They change every page and from flyer to flyer. Last week I noticed this one:


"Failure is an excellent teacher, but you will never see an apple on her desk."

You learn from your mistakes. How true that is !

I keep thinking about how I can be a better teacher. The truth is I need to have my students truly fail when they fail to meet expectations, not give they a pat on the head and tell them it's alright. No one learns from constant success.
