As you can see this is a picture of the water level of the Iowa River at the Coralville dam. The current level is about two to three feet below the high water mark for the flood of 1993. Right now the dam is letting 18,000 cubic feet per second through the spillway. That's about 137500 gallons of water every second. It's not enough.

Well, it went of the spillway last night. I can see the river from my apartment and it has been interesting watching the change from day to day. The water is up to the bottom of the bridge on 1st ave in Coralville.
Oh wait, I misread, it's still just really, really, really close.
Yeah I should go and take some pictures when it goes over the spillway.
