I have said this before. I am in favor of the death penalty. This point is brought home once again due to the event this last week.
Last Thursday, Jetseta Gage was kidnapped in front of her home. I remember hearing the Amber alert go out later that day. On Friday she was found dead, after being rape and strangled. The last person she was seen with was a man by the name of Roger Bentley, a convicted sex offender recently released from jail. It is time like this I wish Iowa had the death penalty. if I was on the jury I would have no problems send her killer to the gas chamber, or what ever other method Iowans would choose for excutions.
For me the death penalty would apply in the following cases.
1. Willful murdering of children (19 year or young) : People in this group include Susan Smith.
2. Willful murdering of Police, Fire, Judges, Federal Agents. People in this gruop included: Brian Nichols, Bart Ross.
3. Any witch murder is commict after the fact out shear malice a or spite. Example Car jacking of Ennis Cosby's car by Mikail Markhasev.
4. Planned Crimes of passion. Mrs. Jones Know Mr. Jones has been sleeping with Mrs. White. Mrs. jones plans to send the kids to Grandma's house, so she can killed Mr. Jones. Example: Texas Cadet Murder
Things not covered.
1.Crimes of passion (with the exception if a child is involed). Mrs. Jones come home early from work and catches Mr. Jones playing hide the sauage with Mrs. White. Mrs. Jones take the family shotgun and kills both of them . I can understand this.
2.Murder crimes with just circumstantial evidence. OJ falls in this case. No Knife, no witnesses, and no confession. He may get Life from me, but not the chair.
3. Manslaughter - You hit a jogger with your car, and you freak out and hide at home. Jail time - Yes. Death - NO
4. Manslaughter through your own stupidity - Three boys blew themselves up making homemade fireworks. Two were killed, one guy lived.
