Book #4 - Mistral's Kiss by Laurell K. Hamilton

I'm in the bookstore and "BLAM" the new Princess Meridith novel is in the bookrack looking at me. This is a short book, another crumb thrown to the fan. Once again this 212 page book covers about 4 hours of real time. I'm still waiting for the meeting with the Seelie King, but there a lot of plot points brought up in this book. Cel is loose and crazy, Meridith is having lots of sex and bringing magic back to the Fey and Queen Andais is still a sadistic bitch. I'm liking the Meridith series a little better since Ms. Hamilton has not painted herself into a corner. The sex in the book seem to work better and read less like hard core porn that the Anita Blake novels have devoled to.

On another note, Ms. Hamilton seems to have a Female Heroic Arctype she is always working with in her books. I might be wrong seen I haven't read her book "Nightseer". Anita Blake and Meridith Gentry seem to have the same body type: small 5'2" - 5'6", but not petite; Long hair; Curvy but not fat; Large breasts; High sex Drive; Both like pain (but not too much); Both are size queens; they like men with long hair; and both are self-employed. It makes me wonder if Ms. Hamilton is writing about what she would like her life to be like or her deep fantasy. Just a thought.
