It can all be taken away: Part II

Last night while I was writing my last post the Black walnut tree in my backyard lost a major part of itself. The tree has always been in danger of toppling. It's just the nature of the Black Walnut species when the trees gets old. Last week I notice a main branch split and rotting. Yesterday a different limb came down. It looks like the whole tree will need to be taken down. I won't miss picking up the hundreds of Black Walnuts, but I will miss the shade. I wish there was some way to save the wood and make a desk out of it. Black Walnut wood is highly prized for furniture.
