Did you know that women make up 51% of the electorate? If they voted in a block the US would changed radically. I read an interesting editorial in the paper the other day. Think about this.

President John Kerry in 2004

or

President Hillary Clinton in 2008

Ms. Clinton's best chance for run for the presidency is 2008. Follow the logic for a moment. If Kerry wins, he will run for re-election in 2008. Unless he dies in office(very unlikely) or refuses to run in 2008 (unlikely but it happened with Johnson in 1968). In 2012 Ms. Clinton would have to compete against John Edwards, since most Vice Presidents run after a successful 8 year term by their Presidnet. Edwards would be Ms. Clinton most prominent rival. In 2012, Ms. Clinton would be 65. Not a good age, since the average age of president for the past 30 year has been about 56-57 years of age. The year 2008 is her year and the best chance of getting a female president in the next 20 years. If Kerry loses, the DNC Convection becomes open in 2008 and Edwards would most likely be out of the picture, since losing tickets rarely generate viable canidates in the next convention. In 2008 Hillary has a clear field. Can you think of any other Democrats of note. Obama? Maybe. How would the DNC break over a White Woman or a Black Man?

Looking at it from the Republican side If Bush win in 2004, who will run in 2008? Normally, I would say V.P. Cheney, but his health has always been in question. Powell doesn't want to run, and Arnold S. can't be president (and No way can an Amendment pass in 4 years). Jeb Bush would be very unlikely, because there is no precidence for having Father, Son, and Brother. Voters would not go for that. That leave a very weak Republican party in 2008.

Think about it...
